When the problem is solved, exit the batch script and click on the new upgrade icon and you will be able to reserve your free copy of Windows 10. I ran it and the icon appeared immediately. There are two quick methods and a longer one. If it is you can return to the main menu and choose one of three methods to get the notification to appear. Step one is check to make sure update KB3035583 is installed. Click or tap OK and the 'Get Windows 10' icon and notifications should now be hidden. Windows 10, disable, remove, reserve, upgrade, app, notification. In the Behaviours column, select 'Hide icon and notifications'. Inside, look for an icon called GWX (Get Windows 10). I later signed out, but now I just recently signed in again and it was. When I first went on the computer it was there, and when I checked my upgrade status it just said I was reserved and to wait for my system to notify me. Now, however, it seems the Reserve Windows 10 icon has disappeared. Run the batch file in admin mode, read the disclaimer and then hit any key. This action will open the Notification Area Icons window. After that, I reserved Windows 10 with my main email. If that doesn’t do the trick, and it didn’t for me, then try running this batch script which is available on Dropbox (as reported by the always excellent Ghacks). You need to have patch KB3035583 installed. That alone might be enough to get the icon to appear. The first thing to try is make sure Windows Update is set to automatically install all updates on your PC and that your system is fully up to date. ![]()
